Under general direction of an Accounting Administrator I (Supervisor), the Senior Accounting Officer, Specialist (SAO) is responsible for performing the more difficult professional accounting duties by utilizing technical expertise and analytical skills. The incumbent will review and approve transactions in the Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal), prepare and submit reports, and process complex invoices for payment. Additionally, the incumbent is responsible for analyzing accounting processes, making recommendations for change as necessary, and reviewing and maintaining procedures.
