Course description:
The sovereign citizen movement is made up of individuals who deny the legitimacy of the American government, consider themselves exempt from federal, state or local laws, and do not answer to government authority. Join us for a presentation where we will delve into the movement and its legal impact, as well as explore strategies for interacting and responding to sovereign citizens.

Los Angeles Child Support Services Department
Jenny Chen is a Staff Attorney at the County of Los Angeles CSSD. She has been with the CSSD for over 19 years. Ms. Chen received her Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School. During law school, she studied abroad at the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing. She was selected as an extern to the Honorable Terry Hatter Jr. of the United States District Court, Central District, and also provided pro bono services for Public Counsel’s Adoption Program. Prior to her law career, she was a financial advisor at Morgan Stanley. In addition to her professional responsibilities, she serves on the board of an LAUSD charter school and is involved with annual fundraising for Alex’s Lemonade (children’s cancer research and awareness). She also enjoys volunteering at her kids’ school, snowboarding, biking, and reading.
